Coach Walth begins his fourth season as the Head Baseball Coach at York College, and his 16th with the program.
During the first season with a new conference, Coach Walth led the 2016 Panthers to a school record in wins while compiling a 46-17 record. The 2016 team also claimed the KCAC Regular Season Championship, and earned a trip to another NAIA National Tournament. Coach Walth was also named the KCAC 2016 Conference Coach of the Year, his second such award in as many years. In his three seasons at the helm the Panthers have an overall record of 118-66.
Prior to taking over as head coach, Walth served as the Associate Head Coach under then Head Coach Nick Harlan from 2002-13. During his tenure he helped guide the Panthers to four conference championships, five NAIA National Tournaments, including a 2013 World Series appearance.
Walth began his collegiate career at West Hills College in California where he played second base for the Falcons. During his time at West Hills he was a Pre-Season All-American and was selected All-Conference in the CVC leading his team in most offensive categories.
Coach Walth signed a letter of intent to play at York College where he played outfield and led off for the Panthers. He led the team in batting average (.429), runs scored (78), and total hits (82). Coach Walth still holds many York College batting records. He was selected first team All-Conference his junior and senior year.
Coach Walth holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from York College. Coach Walth is originally from Maricopa, California and now resides in York with his wife, Jaclyn, and two daughters Sadie (6) and Stella (4).
Coach Connolly begins his fourth season as the Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator of the Panthers, and his ninth season with the program. He will spend his time on the field sharing his expertise with hitters and the infielders. In his nine years with York Baseball Connolly’s infielders have won seventeen All-Conference Gold Glove Awards.
Coach Connolly began his playing career at Butte Community College in Oroville, California, where he contributed to a Golden Valley Conference Championship. He transferred to York College in 2006, where he was a two time First Team All-MCAC and All-Region Shortstop. Coach Connolly posted a career .398 average playing for the Panthers, with 33 doubles and 82 RBI in his career. He also collected two MCAC Gold Gloves at shortstop, and in 2008 was awarded the Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove, being recognized as the best defensive shortstop in the nation.
Coach Connolly holds a Bachelors degree in Education from York College and is finishing his Masters in Education in December. He is originally from Winters, California, grew up in Sacramento, California during high school and currently lives in York, Nebraska with his wife Ashley, and two sons, Easton (4) and JJ (1).
Coach Gray enters his twelfth season as a coach for the Panthers. Coach Gray came to York College in 2001 out of Bowie High School, in Arlington, Texas. He spent four years as an outfielder under UCA Associate Head Coach Nick Harlan and current Head Coach Brian Walth, before taking up a position on the staff in 2005. Coach Gray is a student of the game, understands it from all angles, and his knowledge is a great asset to the coaching staff. He will be working with hitters and the outfielders.
Coach Gray graduated from York College with a Bachelors degree in Education, and currently teaches Special Education at Heartland High School. He is originally from Arlington, Texas, and currently lives in York, Nebraska with his wife, Krissy, and his daughters, Birkley (6) and Kyiah (4).
Coach Helms enters his third season with Panther Baseball, and his second as a Graduate Assistant. Coach Helms is the Head Coach of the Junior Varsity Baseball team, and will help out with catching and pitching at the Varsity level.
Coach Helms began his career at Ohlone Community College in Fremont, California. He contributed to Championship teams over three years at Ohlone, claiming two Coast Conference Pacific titles, three CCCAA Regional Championships, two CCCAA Super-Regional Championships, and one CCCAA State Championship. He also claimed Second Team All-Conference honors in 2012. In 2013 Helms transferred to York College and posted a career .337 average while collecting two First Team All-MCAC honors and two MCAC Gold Gloves as a catcher. He also contributed to the first Regional Championship and NAIA World Series berth in school history.
Coach Helms holds a Bachelors Degree from York College in English, and is currently working towards a Masters in Education. He is originally from Livermore, California, and currently lives in York, Nebraska.
Coach Mead enters his first year as a Student Assistant after competing as a senior in the 2016 campaign. Mead was a two year starter for the Panthers, posting an overall record of 11-6 in 145.1 innings, with five complete games and one shutout. Mead will be leading the Junior Varsity pitching staff this year.
Coach Terazon is entering his first year as a Student Assistant with the Panthers. As a Senior in 2016, Terazon posted a .302 average with nine doubles and three triples while spending time playing both shortstop and third base. Terazon was at his best when it mattered the most, hitting .315 in the postseason including a 6-11 stretch during the conference tournament. Terazon will be working with the Junior Varsity hitters and infielders this season.
