Matthew Madole begins his fifth year as head coach of the York College Lady Panthers. Madole is a 1997 graduate of Pryor High School in Pryor, OK where he became the school's all-time leading scorer, a record that was previously held by his father. Upon graduating high school, Coach Madole came to York College and played under head coach Brett McDaniel.
After earning his Bachelors Degree in English Education, Madole became the Head Women's Basketball Coach of the Arkansas City Lady Bulldogs, in Arkansas City, KS. After a stint at Ark City, Madole went back home to Oklahoma and coached women's basketball at Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City. After 5 years in Oklahoma City, Madole took over the women's program at Ardmore High School in Ardmore, OK.
In April of 2012, Coach Madole was named Head Coach of the York College Lady Panthers. "This is a wonderful place to be. York College is special to me for a number of reasons. My wife and I met and got married here. I have great friendships from my time as a student here. It is definitely a blessing to be here, give back to the school and community and lead this program."
This year brings a new challenge to the Lady Panthers as they begin their inaugeral season as a full member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. "I look forward to being in the KCAC this year," Madole said. "We have played a number of these teams in non-conference games the past few years so we are familiar with each other. This year those games will be a little more meaningful and I look forward to competing in one of the best conferences in the nation."
Madole has been married 17 years to his wife, Traci and they have 3 sons; Zander 10, Drake 7 and Titus 5 and one foreign exchange daughter, Sophie Weidenhammer, 19 from Droessnitz, Germany.
Cory Minjarez joins the women's basketball staff after 2 years of playing for York College. Minjarez scored over 1,000 points in her 2-year career at York and was selected to the MCAC All-Conference teams for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 season.
5th year head coach Matthew Madole had this to say about Minjarez. "I'm really excited to have Cory join our staff this year. She is a high character young lady that has a high basketball IQ. She communicates with the team in a way that shows her intelligence and she also has a passion for giving back to the game and the kids. She's a great addition and we're lucky to have her."
Minjarez has numerous responsibilites within the staff, which include recruiting coordinator, social media director, operational support and fund-raising.
