The Panthers started the season off strong in their win at Viterbo's Twilight Hokum Karem race in La Crosse, Wis. Jeffrey Austin, Justice Barnes, Kyle Bottom, Joe Teachout, Jake Hasenauer, and Warren Lannon helped bring home the meet title on the men's side. Each athlete paired up with another teammate and ran a mile, then their partner ran a mile for a total of eight miles together, four miles individually. Kyle Bottom and Justice Barnes pair finished the 8 miles as a team in 44:49 with a 5:37 mile pace average. Jeff Austin and Jake Hasenauer were close behind with a 45:01 total time and a 5:38 mile average for the pair. Warren Lannon and Joe Teachout were the panthers 3rd pair finishing the 8 miles in 45:36, with a 5:43 mile average pace between the two.
Karissa Austin and Kelsey Dallimore were the top finishers on the womens side running their 6 mile race in 39:56 with a mile average of 6:40. This is a great start to the season and gears them up with the Northwest Missouri State meet on the horizon this Friday night. The women start at 6:00pm followed by the men at 6:45pm.
