LINCOLN - York College competed at the Woody Greeno Invitational this past Saturday on a tough course, that was made even tougher with the conditions. Both races were pushed back due to wet conditions, and by the time the two races begun the trail was pretty sloppy.
The women's team finished 12 out of 13 in a race that saw 115 competitors. Hailey Stigger (SO/Liberty, Mo) led the way for York with a time of 27:51.4 over the 6k race. Madeleine Martinez (SO/San Antonio, Texas) finished in 83rd with a time of 28:14.2 while Hannah Rohda (SO/Omaha, Neb) wasn't far behind with a 28:44.8 time for 90th.
On the men's side Ian Meek (FR/Montrose, Colo) led the way with his 14th place finish out of 94 runners. He ran the 8k in 27:42, which was good enough to be the top NAIA finisher. Steve Lagat (JR/Kenya) was the second Panther to finish as he ran 28:50 for a 39th place finish. Logan Kaliff (SO/York, Neb) came in just seconds later for a 29:02 time with a 44th place finish.
