SEWARD - The men's and women's team traveled to Seward on Saturday to take part in the Concordia Invite on a nice spring afternoon. The Panthers made the best of the weather shattering school records and bringing home top finishes.
On the men's side mason Held dominated his races once again as he took first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.57 seconds and in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.94 seconds. He broke the school record in the 200 meters as he had Carter Price (FR/Rapid City, South Dakota) and Dean Simon (SO/Hudson, Fla) right on his tail as they finished in second and third, respectively.
Simon and Price also finished back-to-back in the 100 meter dash as they went one two in the race with times of 10.76 and 10.90. Simon's time broke the school record as well.
The men's 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay both took first place as well also breaking school records. The 4x100 team consisted of Price, Peyton Horton (JR/Centralia, Mo), Brandin Fry (SR/West Fork, Ark), and Simon in a time of 42.24 seconds. The 4x400 team consisted of Price, Horton, Sheyi Ajiboye (FR/Houston, Texas), and Held. There record time was 3:20.84 seconds.
On the women's side Ashley Dugan (JR/Spring Hill, Fla)
set a new school record as she finished second in the long jump. She jumped 18' 0.25".
The women's relay teams also broke school records as they 4x100 relay team of Sabrina Austin (JR/Morrill, Neb), Dugan, Darrien Gomez (SO/Cozad, Neb), and Hannah Rohda (FR/Omaha, Neb) ran 51.52 seconds. The 4x400 team of Gomez, Dugan, Hailey Stigger (FR/Liberty, Mo), and Rohda finished in fourth placed with a time of 4:18.11.
