YORK - Billy Johnson (SR/Oakland, Calif) drove in four runs and Josh Roman (SR/Newark, Calif) hit a two-run homerun to lead the Panthers past Concordia 11-4. Matt Lindsley (SO/Bakersfield, Calif) drew the start but got chased in the third after walking four straight batters. The Bulldogs capitalized bringing across three runs without earning a base hit. Concordia added another run in the fourth before the Panthers offense took over in the fifth.
Back-to-back-back walks for Roman, Dylan Roller (JR/Lee Summit, Mo) and DB Vidal (SO/Livermore, Calif) loaded the bases with just one out. Timmion Hughes (SR/Vallejo, Calif) reached on a fielder's choice but the hard hit ball to short scored Roman from third. Lamar Smith (SR/Rodeo, Calif) then doubled to left field and scored Vidal. A single by Johnson put Hughes and Smith across home to tie the game 4-4.
York's pitching staff of Brandon Facha (JR/Fremont, Calif) and Ronnie Reed (JR/Milpitas, Calif) didn't allow another hit all night for the Bulldogs. However, the Panthers' offense was far from done. IN the sixth a bases loaded single by Vidal scored Bond and then Smith earned his second RBI when he was hit by pitch.
The seventh inning saw Josh Roman hit a towering homerun over the right field fence that scored Dredge from first to put the Panthers up 8-4. In the eight inning the Panthers scored three more runs on four hits
Facha was credited with the win giving up just one run on two hits. Reed picked up the save going three full innings and didn't allow a hit and struck out five.
Vidal was a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate and Hughes and Johnson added two a piece.
The Panthers improve to 22-17 overall and will get a tough road test as they travel to No. 7 ranked Tabor College for a three-game series this weekend.
