YORK - Nicholas Meck (JR/Topeka, Kan) got things started off on the right foot for the Panthers as they hosted Embry Riddle University on Friday afternoon in the Freeman Center. In a back and forth match Meck was able to come out on top for the decision 7-5.
Noah Manly (SO/Chelsea, Mich) battled next but came up short losing a major decision 15-5. Devaunte Cuba (SR/Dallas, Texas), wrestling his final time at home, fought hard before getting on his back and losing by fall in the first period.
Oscar Marin (SR/Arvon, Calif), another senior, found himself on the losing end of a tough match 6-3. Justin Dyer (JR/Topeka, Kan), in the final match of the afternoon was overmatched early but looked to turn the tide in the second period as he got a reversal and found his opponent in a tough spot. Unfortunately, his opponent reversed back and had Dyer on his back when the whistle blew for the fall.
With five open weights for the Panthers they found themselves on the losing end of the dual with a 49-3 score.
York has a week off before they head to Salina, Kansas for the KCAC Championships on Feb. 4.
