YORK – The York College Panthers outlasted a tough Bethel College team Saturday afternoon in the Freeman Center. The Panthers extended their conference winning streak to six with the 86-76 win.
Johnny Cooksey (SR/Shreveport, La) led the Panthers with 19 points and five assists. York scored 22 points off of 19 turnovers by the Threshers.
Four other Panthers joined Cooksey with double figures including Keith Mack (JR/Chicago, Ill) and Cameron Coleman (SR/Allen, Texas) scoring 15 points, Trevor Lenear (JR/Bellevue, Neb) with 13, and Drelan Triplett adding 11.
The game saw seven ties and 15 lead changes before the Panthers pulled away down the stretch.
York started off slow before Lenear hit a three-pointer five minutes in to give York its first lead of the game. The teams went back and forth over the next three minutes before York took the lead with 12 minutes remaining in the half. The Panthers were able to climb their lead to nine before the Threshers cut it down to five at the break 45-40.

Half way through the second half York had only scored ten points and found themselves down by one 56-55. With just over six minutes remaining the score was tied at 64. Over the next 1:26 York went on a 9-0 run to lead 73-64.
