YORK - The Panthers used a big second half to stay perfect in conference play as they beat Southwestern College 96-71. York never trailed in the game as it saw a lead as large as 28 points late in the second half. Five Panthers scored in double figures led by Johnny Cooksey (SR/Shreveport, La) with 21 points. Cameron Coleman (SR/Allen, Texas) added 20 points along with team highs in steals and assists with four each. Keith Mack (JR/Chicago, Ill) scored 17 points and Trevor Lenear (JR/Bellevue, Neb) and Mark Dean (JR/Denver, Colo) each scored 10 points.
York shot 53% from the field thanks to a 61% shooting in the second half alone. The Panthers defense also forced 23 turnovers that they converted into 31 points. York also scored 73 points in the paint to Southwestern's 42.
The Panthers improve to 5-1 on the season and will have their toughest test of the season as they travel to Hillsboro, Kansas to take on 10th ranked Tabor College.
