YORK - Keith Mack (JR/Chicago, Ill) scored a game high 24 points leading the Panthers to a 102-87 win against Hastings College Saturday evening. Mack was one of six York players to score in double figures.
Mack scored 16 second half points to keep York's offense going as Hastings made a comeback after being down 12 at the break. Hastings was able to cut their deficit down to seven with 17 minutes remaining but Mack quickly scored a layup to push the Panthers lead back to nine. Two minutes later he hit a three-point shot to give York a double digit lead.
Cameron Coleman (SR/Allen, Texas) secured his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Johnny Cooksey (SR/Shreveport, La) added 12 pints along with Drelan Tripplett (JR/Oklahoma City, Okla) adding 11. Michael Johnson (JR/Orlando, Fla) and Mark Dean (JR/Denver, Colo) each added 10 points to round out the double figure scoring. Chris Smith (SO/Dallas, Texas) had another phenomenal game running the point guard position as he dished out 10 assists and only turning the ball over once.
York forced 19 turnovers and scored 24 points off of them, including 16 fast break points. The Panthers had a plus nine advantage on the boards and shot 46% from the field. Hastings was able to shoot 47% from the floor but struggled from the charity stripe, making only 50% of their chances.
York improves to 3-0 on the season and will host Grace University on Nov. 8.
