YORK - The York College Athletics Department is excited to announce a new Panther logo as part of an athletic rebranding.
Jared Stark, Vice President of Athletics and Enrollment said, "we are very excited about the new logo. We have been in the development phase with a designer for several months to create something truly unique to York College. I feel like the timing couldn't be any better, than to unveil it at Homecoming 2016. Now that York College is fully immersed in our new athletic conference (KCAC), we felt our logo needed a fresh start and the rebranding injects the momentum we were looking for."
"The department has had several different logos floating throughout the years and we wanted to simplify and streamline our branding. We feel the new logo captures the spirit and pride of our campus, as well as giving a strong identity to showcase our character and teamwork of our student athletes and Panther fans," said Stark.
The athletic department is very excited about the new design and started pushing it out publicly this week. Along with the Panther head logo there is also a version with YC interlocked lettering available with the Panther. The YC lettering is at center court of the Freeman Center gym and is on apparel and will be used in conjunction with the Panther.
With the launch of the new athletic identity the new logos will be the only logos used for new materials effective immediately. "With an institution like York College it will take some time for old Panthers to disappear, and we understand that. As old shirts and printed materials don't simply vanish but as we move forward - this will be the identity of York College athletics."
