WICHITA, KAN - The York College Track and Field teams took their talent to Wichita, Kansas for one last competition before the summer began. It was the first time competing in the KCAC Outdoor Championships for York College.
Overall coach Justin Carver was pleased with his athletes' performances. "Everyone competed with a lot of heart. We didn't do as well as we hoped in some events, but we did better than expected in others. A couple of our athletes will fortunately have another shot to make their times better at upcoming national meets. I'm proud of all of them. This was a tough meet in a conference that is loaded with talent but my athletes didn't back away from the challenge."
York had several top six finishes on the weekend.
Highlighting the way for the women's side was Forrest Burr (SR/Bird City, Kan). She placed third overall in the Shot Put and second in the Discus. The women's 4x100 meter relay also finished in fourth place for the Panthers.
