Chad Karcher, a native of Bridgeport, NE, enters his 18th year as the Panther’s Certified Athletic Trainer / Instructor. He received his MEd. in Curriculum & Instruction through Doane College, Crete, NE in 2004. He received his B.S. in Physical Education and Athletic Training from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1991 and became nationally certified and state licensed to practice Athletic Training in 1992. He obtained his certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Kansas in 1993, and gained instructor certification status in CPR/First Aid in 2000. Chad also currently coordinates and administers an athletic training outreach program in conjunction with York General Hospital and Fillmore County Hospital, serving five area high schools. Prior to coming to York College, Chad spent 7 years working in Physical Therapy through both the Fillmore County Hospital, Geneva, NE and York Physical Therapy in rehabilitation and as the coordinator for a local high school outreach program serving 14 area high schools on an athletic training consultation basis. During this time he also served as Jr. High and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Geneva High School. He and his wife Joni, a Special Education Teacher and Asst. Track Coach at Fillmore Central Elementary School, Geneva, NE, have three boys: Kyle, Kurt, and Kole.
Choc Bowen, is from Benson, Arizona. He received his Master of Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2009. His Bachelors of Physical Education from Doane College in 2007.
He is currently the Head Athletic trainer for York High School. Prior to York High School, he was the head athletic trainer for Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Ariz. As part of the Bryan Health sports medicine program, helps provide athletic training services to youth sports in the Lincoln area.
